The Italian Gate
Inspired by the timeless elegance of Italy, the entrance gate features Roman-inspired beams that symbolize strength, hospitality and permanence.
Crossing through these gates is intended to feel like leaving the ordinary world behind and entering a place where time slows down and experiences become meaningful.
The Tuscan Driveway
The driveway draws inspiration from the rolling landscapes of Tuscany. Instead of rushing to reception, guests are encouraged to enjoy the gradual approach.
The winding route represents the philosophy that the best destinations are appreciated through the journey itself. As the gardens unfold, every few metres reveal a new perspective of Fortunas Resort.
The Schönbrunn Tunnel
Inspired by the plant tunnel-passage of Schönbrunn Palace, the tunnel creates a transition between the outside world and the calm atmosphere within the resort.
The owner spent many years in Austria and wanted to recreate the peaceful feeling experienced while walking through European palace gardens. Guests often describe the tunnel as the moment when they truly begin to relax.
The Versace Balcony
Inspired by the legendary mansion of Gianni Versace in Miami, the balcony combines elegance, luxury and openness. It celebrates beautiful architecture, warm evenings and conversations overlooking nature.
The concept reminds guests that luxury is not defined by extravagance, but by how a place makes them feel.
The Hidden Bathroom
One of Fortunas Resort's most intriguing secrets. Behind what appears to be an ordinary wall lies a concealed entrance to the bathroom.
Nothing announces its location. Guests are invited to discover it for themselves. Staff are asked never to reveal the secret unless guests genuinely need assistance — many visitors remember this playful surprise long after their stay.
The Alpine Fireplace
Inspired by traditional mountain lodges in the European Alps, the fireplace represents warmth, conversation and togetherness.
As temperatures cool in the evenings around Meru, the fireplace becomes a gathering point where strangers often become friends. It brings a little piece of Alpine hospitality to Kenya.
The Garden of Six Senses
During daylight, guests experience five senses — sight, sound, touch, smell and taste. At exactly 6:30 PM, something changes.
The illumination gradually transforms the gardens. Soft lighting, reflections, evening sounds and the changing atmosphere awaken what Fortunas calls the Sixth Sense — the emotional feeling of peace, wonder and connection that cannot be touched but can certainly be experienced.
The Garden of Six Senses is therefore completed only after sunset.
The Alusa Tour Spa & Wellness Area
This wellness area carries a unique and personal story. It is named after Bien-Aimé Baraza's tour brand, Alusa Tour, in recognition of the memorable five-day stay he spent at Fortunas Resort.
Rather than naming the space after the celebrity himself, the resort chose to honour the journey that brought him here. The spa celebrates rest, renewal and meaningful travel — values reflected by both Fortunas Resort and Alusa Tour.
